FC Mustangs Softball vs Crawfordsville (5 - 3) Win FC Softball got out to a 5-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 5-3 victory over Crawfordsville on Saturday. Crawfordsville closed the gap by scoring on an error and a solo home run. The Mustangs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Oliviah Jones doubled, scoring one run, and Kynleigh Elkins drew a walk, scoring one run. Lillian Bennett earned the win for FC. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out one and walking none. K Shuler took the loss for Crawfordsville. The starting pitcher went one inning, surrendering three runs on two hits, striking out one and walking three. Braelynn Kiger collected the save. Jacquelynn Weber and Jones were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Mustangs. Kailey Daugherty stole two bases. FC ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game. Next up for Fountain Central Varsity Mustangs is a game at South Vermillion on Monday.
